Printing with UV inks—the inks cured with ultraviolet light—has significantly increased in recent years because of the production benefits they offer. But the inks also require extra care and maintenance.
Many of the inks contain ingredients that can cause the rubber surface of the printing blanket to deteriorate. This means you must frequently and thoroughly wash the blanket surface to protect it. And after every UV ink print run, you’ also need to thoroughly clean these harmful agents from the press.
As always, practice care and safety.
